About
Tim Green brings a background in plant physiology and industry-focused crop research to his role as Industry Liaison Officer at AFII. After joining the organisation as a casual in 2022, Tim stepped into his current full-time position in July this year, where he works to strengthen relationships between research, students, and the agriculture industry.
Tim is passionate about creating connections that enable agricultural research to have a real-world impact. He sees AFII as an ideal bridge between science and industry and values the opportunity to foster collaboration and student engagement in agriculture. His work focuses on supporting multidisciplinary and transformative solutions to agrifood challenges.
He holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in plant science and microbiology from Charles Sturt University, honours in plant pathology from the Australian National University, and a postgraduate certificate in cotton production from the University of New England. He is currently completing the examination phase of his PhD which focused on developing short-season wheat varieties for adaptation to the changing Australian climate.
Tim’s enthusiasm for agriculture runs deep, and he is always keen to talk about new research and innovative ideas that drive the industry forward.
