Meet Bryce Cronin
Bryce Cronin is a CEAT Emerging Leader, and received a scholarship to attend evokeAG 2020.
In 2020 Bryce will complete a Bachelor of Engineering in Network and Software Engineering at the University of Canberra.
He is interested in the industrial applications of software engineering to the agriculture sector, with a particular desire to explore the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in farming. Bryce sees AI as a source of untapped potential to improve agricultural practices in terms of sustainability and efficiency, noting that its application to other sectors has resulted in a complete transformation of how products are produced, used, and distributed.
In attending evokeAG2020, Bryce is especially keen to attend talks by AI specialists and learn about their journeys into agri-tech through AI. He is excited to network with representatives from across the agri-tech and food industries, and learn more about opportunities to develop industry experience as a software engineer.
Bryce plans to pursue a career in robotics after finishing his degree, and believes that AI and robotics are essential to refining existing farming practices using big data, and finding newer, better ways of sustaining the agri-food industry.
