Mandy Nguyen is the Institute Manager at the Agrifood Innovation Institute (AFII), overseeing operations and supporting strategic initiatives that connect researchers, industry, and government. She joined AFII in 2020 after holding senior finance and management roles at the Australian National University.

 

Mandy holds a Master of Applied Finance from Monash University, a Master of Business from Victoria University, and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA). With over 20 years in the higher education sector, she brings deep expertise in operational leadership and financial management to the AFII leadership team.

 

Her passion for agriculture stems from her childhood in a Vietnamese village surrounded by rice fields, where she developed a lifelong appreciation for farming and food systems. This interest grew further through conversations with her husband, then a postdoctoral researcher, reinforcing her belief in the power of research to enhance agricultural productivity and resilience.

 

Beyond her professional role, Mandy is a proud mother of twins, Louis and Celine, and a Japanese Spitz puppy, Yuki.
