Australian agriculture has an important role to play in addressing many key issues facing society now and into the future. To grow and thrive into the future, the sector will need to draw on an increasingly diverse range of skills and ways of thinking. Drawing on expertise from field such as engineering, computer science, policy, ecology, business and social sciences, the agricultural workforce of the future will look very different to now.

At ANU we work with industry at multiple levels to understand these needs and support the development of a skilled, future-ready workforce. This includes:

  • Bespoke training – we can work with you to develop and deliver a learning program tailored to your workforce
  • Industry experiences – we facilitate ag industry internships and student projects
  • We conduct research on the future skills and workforce needs of industry, and develop training and education programs to meet these needs
